Electrical Engineer

Pyroban has an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team.

The Role

You will be designing industrial truck conversions and solutions for UK Ex, ATEX and IEC Ex compliant machines.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating project specification documents
• Selecting components for integration into original machine electrical systems
• Designing electrical schematics to achieve both vehicle functionality and to meet legislative requirements
• Designing components to be packaged onto vehicles taking account of extreme space constraint limitations
• Defining electrical enclosure layouts and population
• Conceiving design solutions to achieve optimal execution cost
• Specifying product test requirements to support compliance activities
• Producing documentation to support product certification and when required preparing product risk assessments
• Application of Pyroban gas detection system
• Hands on testing and problem solving on prototype builds

About You

You will need be an experienced and highly motivated electrical engineering professional with demonstratable achievements in the design of complex electrical systems, BOM generation and the specification/sizing of electrical components. 

A good understanding of mechanical/electrical system integration, a foundation knowledge of electronics and a degree/HND in electronics, electrical or automotive engineering are essential.  You should also be proficient in using AutoCAD Electrical, have CAN protocol knowledge and excellent project management skills.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of designing industrial vehicle electrical systems and/or electrical machine systems and controls.  Experience of working in a highly regulated environment would be advantageous but not essential as would exposure to CE marking and knowledge of hazardous area regulations.
