Vertex are currently recruiting for a Multi-skilled Day Engineer to work at The Minster Building within Business Unit 4.

 

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the candidate will be working as part of the engineering team. You will provide all round engineering support maintaining the buildings infrastructure. You will have a detailed understanding of all new or current Building Service systems and contingency procedures within the buildings and complying with the Health & Safety/building codes of practice. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

•Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.

•Take lead on ensuring all PPM tasks are carried out on time.

•Provide reactive and proactive maintenance service.

•Provide a service that ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment is running to optimum performance.

•Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service, which covers electrical and mechanical disciplines.

•Provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators are met.

•Carry out modifications and installations when required. 

•Liaise with sub-contractors and external suppliers.

•Take ownership of tools and equipment provided and ensure they are maintained to an appropriate standard.

 

The hours of work average 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday alternating shifts between 08:00 & 17:00 and 09:00 & 18:00. However, flexibility is required to complete the duties associated with the role. 

The candidate will be part of a call-out rota every 1 in 4 weeks
