Vertex are currently recruiting a Multi-skilled Day Engineer at Kent Science Park.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the candidate will be working as part of the engineering team. You will provide all round engineering support maintaining the buildings infrastructure. You will have a detailed understanding of all new or current Building Service systems and contingency procedures within the buildings and complying with the Health and Safety/building codes of practice. 

Key Responsibilities

•Issue relevant site permits as part of the Safe System of Work

•Completion of PPM and reactive tasks for their respective shift team 

•Identification of materials required to be ordered in a timely manner and completion of the internal materials request form (MRF1)

•Maintain effect shift handovers

•Timely implementation and recording of statutory inspections, including accurate recording annual DB inspections

•Control of third party contractors including monitoring of work performance and standards, including internal auditing where applicable.

•AC, DC single phase and three phase motors

•UPS systems, batteries, static switches and associated controls

•Emergency lighting, low voltage switch panels/associated breaks and lighting control systems

 

The hours of work average 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 08:00 & 17:00. However, flexibility is required to complete the duties associated with the role. The candidate will also be required to be part of the call-out rota once familiar with the site.
